The Forum will be held in Malcesine (Italy) on 12thand 13thJuly 2019.
Extreme sports are practised by millions of participants worldwide. Their recent addition to the list of Olympic disciplines and the spectacular nature of these sports has attracted the attention of the media, the fashion world and the general public, across all age groups. Sports characterized by high speed, great heights and complex environments demand outstanding psycho-physical performance yet also require the use of cutting-edge technological equipment.
All professionals – whatever their specific field – wishing to work in this sector need specific preparation; they need to be able to draw on the most recent, rigorous scientific research and on skills that are often integrated and complementary.
Hence the establishment of the ExtremeSportMED Forum, an international multidisciplinary event that is the natural follow-up to the first Extreme Sports Medicine technical-scientific reference text published by Springer in 2017. That same year the extreme sport medicine and engineering doctoral Summer School promoted by the Politecnico di Milano ratified the basis for integrated ultra-specialised training.
The event – organized by the ExtremeSportMED scientific association in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano – will be held in Malcesine (Italy) at the distinguished venue of Palazzo dei Capitani, on 12thand 13thJuly 2019. It will host the first multidisciplinary group interested in developing specific skills for the extreme sports sector.
The event is sponsored by Council of Malcesine. It is ECM accredited for doctors and health workers and CNI accredited for engineers.
The Forum is for ExtremeSportMED members only and is restricted to 50 participants.
