The International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) aims to promote and develop the sport of kiteboarding internationally. It is responsible for hosting the World Championships and managing a World Ranking system for each of the five classes of kiteboarding. Accordingly IKA develops the Class Rules, Championship Rules and the Equipment registration regulations as well as being responsible for the training of judges, umpires and other administrators. Furthermore, IKA represents the interests of the riders and their national class associations to World Sailing. Members of the IKA are the national class associations governing kiteboarding around the world in each respective country.
